Sometimes emotions do not surface immediately after an event. Delayed reactions can appear confusing, especially in trauma-related conditions. How do you make sense of delayed emotions? What helps you process them when they arise?

I try to give myself space to feel whatever comes up, even if it’s days or weeks later. Journaling or talking with someone I trust helps me make sense of delayed emotions. Accepting that reactions can be delayed and normal reduces confusion, and breaking down feelings step by step makes them easier to process.
