Buddhism teaches detachment from desire and mindfulness of the present. Does practicing these principles improve mental health and social harmony, or risk disengaging people from real-world responsibilities and ambitions?

I think for some people who believe in Buddhism they find peace in their religion. Of course it could have an effect on how their lives go, like with family and friends, but I think for the most part, people who are Buddhist live a happy life. I think most people who become Buddhist, are trying to seek something more in life. Or find something about themselves maybe.

I think Buddhist philosophy can reduce stress by teaching mindfulness, acceptance, and non-attachment. Practices like meditation and focusing on the present moment help calm the mind and manage anxiety. Applying these principles in daily life encourages perspective, patience, and emotional balance, making modern challenges easier to navigate.

Buddhism is a philosophy of hope. It says there is sorrow in the world, but it also asserts that human beings can get away from sorry. Buddhism offers 8 fold path for getting away from sorrow. If you understand Buddhist philosophy and if you try to implement Buddha's philosophy in life it can certainly help to reduce stress, anxiety and other mental health conditions and issues.
