NIMH reports 7.1% of U.S. children aged 3–17 have diagnosed anxiety. How can teachers distinguish between typical shyness and a real disorder?

School anxiety is normal to an extent, it’s common when kids face new challenges. But if it disrupts daily life or lasts long, it’s alarming. I think early support and open talks help kids manage and feel safe at school.

It is normal for kids to have school anxiety. For some, it is the school workload that causes it while for others, the prospect of having to mix up with people they barely know is the factor that raises anxiety.

I think school anxiety in kids is pretty normal, there are so many unknown factors they have to deal with so it's okay to feel this way but there is a limit to everything. A kid who constantly deals with anxiety is an issue that needs attention.
