People often associate PTSD with war, but family violence, emotional neglect, or toxic relationships can leave similar scars. How can we identify and treat trauma within households that appear “normal”?

PTSD can emerge in domestic environments through ongoing conflict, abuse, or neglect. Its effects may remain invisible, shaping behavior, emotions, and relationships. Recognition, therapy, and supportive interventions might be essential in the cases like this. Home should be safe spaces.

PTSD can come from any environment, be it war, in your school, or in the comfort of your own home. War is not the only thing that can result in struggles from PTSD. People who have been abused, raped, or neglected may suffer from it, and it that can happen at home, or just about anywhere.
