I won't lie, I am very scared of getting married. I have seen people that were once cheerful and very happy as single people, turning out to become very miserable after they have gotten married. Some people would say that they married the wrong person. But how does one even know the right person?

Well, I did not want to get married. I I was afraid, I would lose my freedom, I was afraid I would have to work day and night just to provide for the family. I was afraid of responsibilities. But then I got married and the fear vanished. I think it is very common for people to be afraid of marriage because it demands a lot of commitments and responsibilities.

I am not even afraid of responsibilities. As a woman, it is demanded that you submit to your husband. My fear is in choosing a terrible person. I would have to submit to him regardless. And that would mean I have jeopardized my life. And I don't ever want to marry and divorce.

Well, as someone who has been married with two kids, I can tell you if you are married to the right person, you will be a happiest person in the world and if you are in a bad marriage, you will be the saddest person.

No. I’ve been married twice in the past. I don’t see myself getting married again, but I will date again.

My mental health didn’t affect my marriages.

I am still scared of getting married. The fear of responsibility is what is making me scared of marriage. I can't just reconcile with my mind that I would be absolutely financially responsible for other people. It scares me to the bones and that is why I am taking my time to overcome that fear.

If I love the man and he loves me too, there is reason for me to feel afraid of marrying. It can be scary if it is an arranged marriage but if not, happiness is felt. Counseling also helps the couple if marriage is for them to traverse or not. It is essential to get to know each other first to avoid regrets of breakup.

I believe my mental health is in a good state and i am not scared of getting married. This is because i believe that everything would work out fine when one marries the right person.

The greatest fear that I have about getting married is how my life would be conditioned to be a role model to others. How I would lose my freedom because I am accountable to my wife and my children. That's why I am taking my time to wait to a point that I am sure I am very ready for marriage.

I used to be very nervous about marriage until I met the right guy. My boyfriend and I are always improving our communication skills and we are always wanting to know how the other person is feeling, if there is anything that's been bothering us or anything that we can work on so our relationship is always growing.

When I was with the wrong guys I would always worry because I didn't want to get married and then divorced.

For me the only thing i fear about getting married is that i am not financially strong enough to handle a family. I want my financial life to be strong in the sense that i have a stable flow of income to help support a family.

One other fear that I have about getting married is having to end up with a guy that would require me to lose myself. I don't want to lose my identity because of marriage. I am under obligation to submit and I am scared of having to end up submitting to someone that is not worth it.

I am not married yet, but I do hope to one day. I guess it is normal for anyone to become anxious and even have worries about marriage, but for those who seem to become anxious and worried quite easily, that could be where it would be an issue.

I know I get anxious very easily and suffer from anxiety a lot, so I would imagine I will have worries and become anxious when I am close to marriage.

So many people get divorced that it's understandable why some don't want marriage. Anyway, though, traditional religions such as Christianity promote marriage, but these days they never work. Do you all feel that way?

I am scared of getting married actually. I come from a culture where women are expected to be subordinates to men. And I am scared that I am going to end up losing myself all because of marriage. That's my biggest fear in marriage.

I don't think it's a fear as such. There are people who feel they're not ready to take that big leap or that big step. There are even people who enjoy being single, so why get married? I don't think it's a fear as such. But deep down, they must feel they're not ready for that yet.
